MARION, VIRGINIA: ELMER CHARLES JONAS, age 76, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Smyth County Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his former wife Evelyn and one son, Michael. He is survived by three daughters Sharon Norman of Asheboro, North Carolina, Mitzi Nelson of Florida, and Deena King and husband Gerry of Julian, North Carolina; two sons, Douglas Jonas and wife Betsy of Morrisville, North Carolina, John Jonas of Colorado; one step-daughter, Glenda Morgan of Johnson City, Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Jonas officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cripple Creek Virginia with Rev. Tim Worgan officiating.
