Ernest Jackson Bivens, Jr.

MARION, Va.

Ernest Jackson “Jack” Bivens, Jr. age 67, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Deer Meadows, Abingdon, Va.

Jack was a loving son, brother and friend. His passions were stocks, investments, and doing tax returns; but his love was time on the golf course. Jack was a long-time member of Holston Hills Country Club. His friendly and caring way will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Ethel Bivens; infant brother, Donald Ray Bivens; brother Freddie Bivens; and sister, Nancy Bivens Cress.

Jack is survived by his brother, Mike Bivens and wife, Sharon of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister-in-law, Vickie Bivens of High Point, N.C.; four nieces, Skyler Bivens of San Francisco, Cali., Tessa Gonzalez and husband George, of Virginia Beach, Va., Jennifer Mason of Charlotte, N.C., and Rebecca Kirkman of High Point, N.C.; two great-nieces, Ashley Mason and Allison Kirkman; two great-nephews, Dustin Bivens and wife, Ali, and Alex Mason; step-great-nephew, Georgie Gonzalez; special friends, Fred Hash, Margaret Lee and Mushell Shazier.

Private graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, 169 Edgewood Lane, Bastian, Va. 24314.
