Evelina Pearl Monk Sargent age 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Pearl was a loving wife, Mom, friend and Mamaw. She adored her family and they loved her right back. Pearl raised her girls and then had a hand in raising many other babies who affectionately called her Aunt Pearl for many years. Her gentle way and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Monk and brother, William “Bill” Monk.

Pearl is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas “Tom/Sarge” Walker Sargent; daughters, Shelia Martin and husband, Dean and Tommie Sargent all of Richlands, Va.; brother, Bobby Monk and wife, Sherry of Talbot, Tenn.; sisters, Martha Herndon of Hamblin, Tenn. and Tina Garmon of Richlands, Va.; grandchildren, Abbigael Martin and Luke Martin of Richlands, Va.; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Fran Monk of Richlands, Va.; and special friends of the RHS Class of 1965.
