MARION, VIRGINIA: EVELYN GREENE HUNTER, age 90, widow of Leonard H. Hunter, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at her home. She was born on September 23, 1916 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Creed and Luverna Lawson Greene. She graduated from Dryden High School. Mrs. Hunter was a long time member of Marion Baptist Church. Besides her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by Nancy Hunter. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Randy Bohon of Richwood, Texas, Liz and John Green, and Susan and Lewis Doane all of Wytheville, Virginia; four sons and daughters-in-law, George and Sandy Hunter of Roanoke, Virginia, Leonard Jr. and Jane Hunter of Glade Spring, Virginia, Ronald and Dixie Hunter of Chilhowie, Virginia, and John and Diane Hunter of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Sarah Hunter Meade of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Burke officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the American Legion Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
