MARION, VIRGINIA: EVERETTE H. BOX, age 93, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Box was a life long member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church and served in many capacities. He was a well known Smyth County farmer having both dairy and beef operations throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Vera Copenhaver Box. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Darleyne and Archie B. Atwell of Ceres, Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Box of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Leta Cummings of Marion, Virginia; three granddaughters, Kimberly Muncy and husband, James of Hawaii, Gina Deloatch of Bristol, Virginia, and Jamie McHone and husband, Brian of Wytheville, Virginia; two grandsons; Charles Atwell and wife, Melissa of Ceres, Virginia and James Atwell of Ceres, Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church, Marion, Virginia with Rev. Mike Teague, Rev. Mike Sage, and Dr. Wayne Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The family would like to extend many thanks to all of Mr. Box's wonderful care givers and the staff at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home.
