Florence Clark

RICH VALLEY, VIRGINIA: FLORENCE BUCHANAN CLARK, age 90, widow of Benjamin "Ben" Clark, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Virginia. She was a long time member of the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church and was active in the women's group at the church. She was a graduate of Virginia Intermont College and was a teacher in the Smyth County School System for many years. Mrs. Clark was also active in the Rich Valley Fair Association. She is survived by one sister, Sue B. Clark of Abingdon, Virginia. One brother, George W. Buchanan of Chilhowie, Virginia. Seven nieces and nephews, Donna Silber, Charles P. Hope, III, Ruth Case, James Hope, Phillip B. Lee, Evelyn Cates, and Julia Appel. Several great-nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
