Flossie Taylor McClure Gerasco age 96, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Northern Regional Hospital, Mt. Airy, N.C.
Flossie was a loving wife, mom, mommy, mother, mamaw, nana, grandma Flossie – she was everything all in one and she was adored by her family. She loved walking, caring for her flowers and traveling anywhere and everywhere. You said we’re going – and she was ready. Flossie loved the sun, sand and fun from Jamaica to Myrtle Beach. She was a seamstress most of her life and could make anything. Flossie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilda and Nora Taylor; husbands, Kyle McClure and Felix Gerasco; brother, Earl Taylor; sister, Cathy Smith; son-in-law, James VanHoy; and grandson, Chucky VanHoy.
Flossie is survived by three daughters, Lorrie Garner of Bridgeport, W.Va., Brenda VanHoy of Dobson, N.C., and Diana Grilli (John) of Clarksburg, W. Va.; brother, Wayne Taylor of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 12 until 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Blake Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, 1183 St.Clairs Creek Road, Chilhowie Va. 24319.
