MARION, VIRGINIA: FORD SAGE, age 78, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at his home in Marion, Virginia.
Mr. Sage was a member of Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener, and loved to fish. He retired from Southwestern State Hospital with over 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of VFW Post #4667.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Sage.
He is survived by one sister, Ruby Johnson of Marion, Virginia; two brothers, Jesse Sage and wife, Betty of Marion, Virginia and Stanley Sage and wife Helen of Longwood, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends and neighbors, Tom and Maxine Olinger and family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage and Rev. Dan Jividen officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 p.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. Military Rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post # 4667.
