LEBANON, VIRGINIA: FRANCES LOUISE "BOBBIE" BOYD, age 84, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, December 21, 2006 at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, Virginia. Bobbie was born November 29, 1922, a daughter of the late E.J. and Mattie Evans Boyd. She was a lifelong resident of Russell County, living first in Honaker, later in Lebanon. She worked in the Russell County School System as a Head Start teacher and substitute teacher. She was also an administrative secretary and long-time pink lady volunteer at Russell county Medical Center. Bobbie loved nature, along with taking care of her cats, bird and ducks. She was a friend to all with a warm and loving heart and spirit. We are all blessed to have known Bobbie and she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond J. Boyd, Ellis J. Boyd, Jr., Moran Boyd and a sister, Geraldine Boyd Rowe. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Boyd Howard of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of Rosedale, Virginia; nine nieces and nephews, many faithful friends, along with a special friend, Helen Finney. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Carter officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Russell Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church.
