MARION, VIRGINIA: FRANCES (LOETTA) CATRON FUNK, age 82, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Funk was a pianist for the Mt. Zion Methodist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Verna Cornett Catron, two brothers, James Catron and Clarence Catron, Jr., one sister, Pauline Bush, one daughter, Martha Dawkins, and one son, Michael David Funk. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernest C. Funk of Marion, Virginia. Four daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Ed Grinstead of Marion, Virginia, Elizabeth and Tom Richardson of Bluefield, West Virginia, Margaret and Fred Brazee of Lutz, Florida, and Patsy and Jim Huff of Bristol, Tennessee. One son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Brenda Funk of Marion, Virginia. Three sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Mason of Marion, Virginia, Imogene and Harry Duncan of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Reba and Edward Bridges of Atkins, Virginia. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Tina Terry, Becky Terry, Marcy Brigman, Betsy Wadman, Katie Richardson, Kim Overstreet, Kristen Huffstedler, Marc Dutton, Lori Eggleston, Karla Huff, Amy Neitch, and Michael Funk. One aunt, Marie Cregger of Roanoke, Virginia. Sixteen great-grandchildren also survive as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Jeanne Denton and Rev. Jeff Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Wassum Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
