Frances W. Horne age 102, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Carrington Place, Wytheville, Va.
Frances had a heart of gold, and orange fingers from her love of Cheeto’s. She loved her family, especially the ones who called her granny. Frances was a hard worker who spent her time working on a dairy farm with her husband. Before that, after graduating from Marion College, she taught for several years. She attended Blue Springs Methodist Church most of her life and enjoyed her time there. Frances lived a long and full life being 102 years old, there was still just not enough time with her. She will be missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Horne; parents, Floyd and Hattie Wolfe; two brothers; and one sister.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Jones of Rural Retreat, Va.; sons, Clayton Horne and wife, Fran of Rural Retreat, Va., and Charles Horne and wife, Belinda of Marion, Va.; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel or anytime at the children’s home. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage and Pastor Kenny Price officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Blue Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, 168 Blue Springs Road, Sugar Grove, Va. 24375. Family and friends are asked to meet at Seaver-Brown by 10:15 a.m. for procession to the graveside.
