CHILHOWIE, Va.: Frances Elizabeth Simms Alley, age 71, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion Va.
Born July 9, 1944 to the late, Albert “June” and Bonnie Elizabeth McKinnon Simms. Frances was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, companion, sister and friend. She spent her life taking care of so many people in the community. If you had a problem, the answer was to always “call Frances”, usually the call and an egg sandwich could fix just about any trouble. Her loving, caring nature was felt by so many. Frances will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her – especially her family, and Eddie who were childhood sweethearts and finally found themselves in love again 20 years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Allen Leonard and a son-in-law, Mark Tilson.
Frances is survived by her companion in life and her best and dearest friend, Edward “Eddie” B. Alley of the home, Chihowie, Va.; one daughter, Tracey Leonard Tilson of Marion, Va; granddaughter, Shelby Faith Tilson of Marion Va.; sister, Janice “Dottie” Simms Deatherage and husband, John of Roanoke, Va.; brothers, Tommy L.
