MARION, Va.
Fred Allen Stoots, age 64, died Monday, August 22, 2016.
Fred Stoots was a good man. It was pretty simple, if he had something on his mind, he’d let you know. His family knew this well and so did the folks Fred worked with during his many years in construction. He was a Master Electrician, a trade he learned from his step-father, John Parsons. Throughout the years, he put his knowledge to use in helping family, friends and his church; Atkins First Church of God. He fixed the baptismal so folks could be baptized; helped in the food pantry and even got the elevator to running. You could say he kept the Lord’s work moving. Fred’s family was his world. He was always on the go, even after retirement, staying busy helping his children and loving the little girl born to make everyone happy, the angel of his eyes, Alyssa “Scooter” Stoots. Fred loved his Lord, his family and his community. He is going to be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mattie Stoots; step-father, John Parsons; daughter, Janice Lynn Stoots; sister, Anna Ruth; brothers, Ray Stoots and William “Yogi” Stoots.
Fred is survived by his wife, Sandy Stoots; daughter, Crystal Owens and husband, Dick; son, Paul Stoots and wife, Leska; sister, Alice Hall; brother, Buford Stoots; granddaughter, Alyssa “Scooter” Stoots, all of Marion, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
