Gail "Nanny" Hayden

Gail “ Nanny” Hayden, age 68,  passed away Saturday, September 03, 2022 at her home in Marion, Va., surrounded by her family.

To know Gail was to love Gail. And everybody did! She loved her family fiercely, especially the grandbabies, who were her greatest joy. Gail was known to most by name and by heart as Nanny. If you you’ve had cake more than once in your life, she probably made it. She had a great laugh and love for everyone. She was Nanny to many. Gail loved the Lord and was so thankful for her Falling Water Baptist Church family. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Malissa Crewey; brother Harold Crewey.

Gail is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hayden Nelson and husband, Greg, Marion, Va.; sister-in-law, Billie Crewey,  Georgetown, Ky.; four grandchildren, Dustin Hayden and wife, Brandy, Alli Gross, step grandchildren, Corey Horton and wife, Ashley, Matthew Nelson all of Marion ,Va.; seven great-grandchildren,  Alexa, Sophia, Bryleigh, Kainon, Atticus, Theia, Gunner; two special nieces, Malissa Contreras and husband José, Wendy Hammack and husband George.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 6 until 8 p.m.at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 7, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Cody Boone and Pastor Jerry Creasy officiating. Burial will follow in Walker’s Creek Fellowship Cemetery, Marion, Va.
