Gary Richard Parsons

Gary Richard Parsons, age 79, went to his Heavenly home Friday, February 3, 2023 following a brief illness. He was surrounded by loved ones and a very caring Nursing staff. Gary talked often of Heaven and looked forward to the day Jesus took him home.

He was the son of Sankey and Dorothy Parsons and was born in Charleston, W.Va. on January 3, 1944. Gary was one of seven siblings. Gary attended Gulf Coast Bible College where he received an Associate’s Degree. He was an Ironworker in Texas, had his own cleaning business and worked for the Virginia School System as a custodian.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Jimmy, Patty and Sankey.

Gary is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home. Also surviving are siblings Jack(Laura), Tommy(Harriet), and Larry(Jo); numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. Royal Chapel Church of God, 7190 George Hildebran Rd., Hickory, N.C. 28602 at 2 p.m. Receiving will take place from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Pastors Bobby Dunn, Carlton Davidson and David Root will be conducting the service.
