Geneta Noonkester

MARION, VIRGINIA: GENETA HASH NOONKESTER, age 95, widow of Paul Noonkester, died Friday, September 10, 2004 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Noonkester was a long time member of East End Baptist Church, a loving mother and grandmother, and all the grandchildren called her "Little Grand Ma." She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Billy Irvin of Marion, Virginia. Five grandchildren, Danny Noonkester, Terry Noonkester, Vicky Whipple, Melinda West, and Don Hash. Fourteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 12, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Paul Jones and Rev. Don Tate officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
