Geneva Rowland Pickle

Geneva Rowland Pickle age 95, loving mother, aunt, and sweet friend to many, met her Savior face to face Tuesday morning, April 11, 2023.

Geneva, affectionately called “Tishie” by many in her family, was born April 19, 1927 to the late Reaves L. and Myrtle Matheson Rowland. Geneva lived her life well, knowing that she was carried in the Everlasting Arms of God the Father and trusting Him to care for all of those she loved. She thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors in her yard and garden. Her quiet determination, her smiling face, soft laugh and generous heart will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Pickle; brothers Rex A. Rowland, Burl L. Rowland, Harold D. Roland, Sr., and T.J. Rowland; son-in-law, Gary Wayne Phibbs.

Geneva is survived by her daughter, Sharon Pickle Phibbs of Chilhowie, Va.; sister, Joan Rowland Crockett (Tom) of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister-in-law, Brenda Wright Rowland of Marion, Va.; many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved; special cousin, Novella Gibbs; and numerous special friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 12 until 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel 237 East Main Street, Marion, Va. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 231 Red Stone Road, Chilhowie, Va.
