Gerald Dean Blevins

MARION, Va. Gerald Dean Blevins, age 63, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va. He was born April 8, 1953 in Marion, Va. to the late David H. and Edith Plummer Blevins. Gerald retired after 32 years of service for the Pepsi Cola Company. He was the truest and most loyal Baltimore Orioles fan you would ever find. Gerald was a loving husband, and friend to all who knew him. A wonderful caretaker of his family and friends, who always had a smile on his face and loved to laugh, Gerald will be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Gentry. Gerald is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Rowland Blevins; sister, Diane Gentry; brother, Cam Blevins and fiancée, Tracy Sizemore; uncle and best buddy, John L. Blevins and wife, Mary; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rex and Cindy Rowland; sister-in-law, Sue Stevenson and husband, Larry, all of Marion, Va.; brother-in-law, Gayle Rowland and wife, Janet of Chilhowie, Va.; numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend George Jessee officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Grosses Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667.
