SALEM, VIRGINIA: GRADY WAYNE LOVELACE, CSM Retired, age 74, died Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at his home in Salem, Virginia. Born June 28, 1931 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Cary "Bob" and Bessie Joines Lovelace; he retired as Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army after 33 years of service; having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War; and was a member of Taylor Masonic Lodge in Salem, Virginia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Ilene Martin, one half-brother and six half-sisters. Sergeant Lovelace is survived by two daughters, Rhonda L. Hamm and husband, Danny of Indian Trail, North Carolina and Shirley L. Burton of Marion, Virginia; One son, Patrick Wayne Hilsinger of New Jersey; Three sisters, Margaret Cressell of Marion, Virginia; Irene Taylor of Palatine, Illinois; Pat Pennington of Troutdale, Virginia; Two brothers, Robert J. Lovelace of Roanoke, Virginia and Donald Z. Lovelace of Salem, Virginia. Three grandchildren, Shawn Hamm, Zachary Burton, Nikalas Burton, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Lisa Morgan of Salem, Virginia also survive. Funeral Services with Masonic Rites will be held Saturday, December 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia, with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Troutdale Cemetery, Troutdale, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
