MARION, VIRGINIA: GROVER "TOM" MOORE, age 86, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 in Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia.
He was born December 31, 1920 in Marion, Virginia to the Late Grover C and Ella Mays Moore. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corp. He retired from Brunswick Corporation after more than 30 years of service.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Cook Moore; four brothers, Charlie, Glenn, Clarence, and Frank Moore; one son, Michael D. Moore; and one grandson, Chip Wright.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Kathy Moore of Marion, Virginia; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Judy M. and Perry Gorham of Roanoke, Virginia; six grandchildren, Chris, Amy, and Ryan Moore, Virginia Moore, Sean Moore and wife, Karin, Misty Gregg and husband, David; five great-grandchildren, Madison DeBord, Matthew Moore, Griffin Moore, Zachary and Callie Gregg; three sisters-in-law, Oolah Moore of Richmond, Virginia, Cleta Moore and Betty Sue Moore both of Marion, Virginia also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Seaver-Brown Chapel at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Teague officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Rose Lawn Cemetery where Military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667.
