H. Jack Rambo age 79, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Carrington Place of Wytheville, Va.
Jack was born December 31, 1943 to the late Arvel Rex and Ida Gay Rambo. He was a retired VDOT mechanic who loved to go deer hunting and trout fishing. But what he loved most was being a husband, father, and papaw. Jack adored his family. His kids and grandkids were truly the apple of his eye, and they loved him just as much.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda Lee Rambo.
Jack is survived by one son, James A. Rambo (Angie) of Rural Retreat, Va.; three daughters, Amy L. Wall of Marion Va., Melanie L. Rambo (Jesseca) of Rural Retreat, Va., Cristy A. Smith of Marion, Va.; one sister, Hazel R. Thomas (Hammond) of Bristol, Va.; seven grandchildren, Austin J. Rambo (Samantha D. Perdue), Michael A. Rambo, Justin H. Rambo, Carrie M. Mohr, Samantha A. Rambo, Cheralyn P. Smith, Olivia L. Smith; one great-grandchild, Oakleigh A. Rambo; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Peggy Woods.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 31, 2023 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Justin Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Cemetery, 203 Middle Fork Road, Marion Va.
