Henry Evans

HENRY G. EVANS, age 77, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He attended Calvary Baptist Church faithfully and was retired from Brunswick Corporation after 35 years of service. Henry was a loving, caring man, especially devoted to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Flossie M. Evans; one step-son, Roger L. McBride; five brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Sexton Evans of Marion, Virginia. Five step-sons, Alvin Wyatt of Burke, Virginia; Billy E. McBride of Marion, Virginia; Mickey Garrett of Bristol, Virginia; Johnny Sexton and Tommy Sexton both of Marion, Virginia. One step-daughter, Donna Cassell of Bristol, Virginia. Two sisters, Sue Call of Alexandria, Virginia, and Sadie Nichols of Salem, Virginia. Fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Gary Trout and Rev. Jonathan King officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
