Herbert Eugene Haulsee, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home in Marion, Va. surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kermit and Josephine Haulsee.
Herbert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Emma Elledge Haulsee, who never left his side during his illness; two special daughters, Linda Totten and husband, Pastor Mark Totten, and Rhonda Hedrick and husband, Gary of Staunton, Va. He was blessed with four loving grandchildren Beverly Totten Combs and husband, Jeremy and their foster son, all of Abingdon, Va., Nathan Totten and wife, Melanie of Marion Va., Craig Williams and wife, Sara and their children, Cole, Cooper, and Sydney all of Churchville Va. and Katie Williams of Churchville, Va.; step-grandsons, Ben Hedrick and wife, Jenn and their children, Lydia, Josiah and Olivia, Daniel Hedrick and wife, Grace and their daughter, Scarlett.
Herbert was a faithful member and deacon at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Marion, Va. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He retired with 41 years from Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries where he was manager at both the Williamsville and Marion Hatcheries. Herbert was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time with his family. He will be sadly missed by family and friends but will be enjoying his Heavenly home until we meet again.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Seaver Brown Chapel with Pastor Ryan Cox officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park in Rural Retreat with Pastor Mark Totten officiating and Military Honors conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seaver Brown Chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. McGlothlin and Hospice of Southwest Virginia for the great care Herbert received during his illness.
