Howard Ray Badger

Howard Ray Badger, Jr. age 61, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home.  

Howard was friendly, caring, set in his ways and loved to joke around with everyone. He worked at the Mount Rogers Industrial and Developmental Center (IDC) in Atkins handling packaging. He loved spending time with those precious grandkids, watching old movies and anything western. He was very selfless in helping others before helping himself. His joking way will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Pennington; parents, Howard and Mary Badger; and his brother, Earl Badger.  

Howard is survived by his daughter, Amber Ramos and husband, Chris, of Chilhowie, Va.; son, Jeremy Badger, of Marion, Va.; two sisters, Gladys Custer, Betty and husband Steve Keinath, all of Detroit, Mich.; grandchildren, Jocelyn Ramos, Raelyn Ramos, Jasper Pennington and one on the way; several nieces and nephews; and one special friend, Pam Olinger.

There will be no public services.
