MARION, VIRGINIA:IDA PENNINGTON TESTERMAN, age 67, died Tuesday March 22, 2005 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born on March 13, 1938 in Konnarock Virginia to the late Harold and Laura Pennington. Mrs. Testerman was a great caring wife, grandmother, sister and was the best mother in the world. She was also the "yard sale Queen" of Smyth County. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy L. Ellis, one son Robert W. Testerman, and two brothers, Don and Tim Pennington. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. "Nanner" Testerman of Marion Virginia, three sons Barry L. Ellis and Wife Sue of Marion Virginia, Benny E. Ellis and wife Michelle of Clemmons, North Carolina and Thomas R. Testerman and wife Sandy of Knoxville, Tennessee. Two daughters Sherry Ellis Mitchell and husband Glen of Marion, Virginia, and Jessica T. Goad and husband Larry, of Marion, Virginia. Nine grandchildren Stephanie L. Ellis, Melissa A. Ellis, Chad D. Ellis, and Samuel M. Goad, Cassiday Turley all of Marion, Virginia, Christopher D. Ellis and Danielle L. Ellis both of Clemmons, North Carolina, George T. Testerman and Caroline E. Testerman both of Knoxville, Tennessee, two great grandchildren Colby K. Blevins and Ethan R. Cook both of Marion, Virginia, one sister Gaye Doss of Marion, Virginia, four brothers Allen Pennington, and Kelly Pennington both of Marion, Virginia, Dave Pennington of Kenbridge Virginia, and Ralph Pennington of Boone, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held. Friday March 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. William T. Wing III and Dr. Mark Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
