Jack W. Farmer, age 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, December 24, 2018.
He loved his Lord, his family and his country. Jack was a humble but proud World War II veteran, and a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Perkins Farmer; parents, Wayne and Golda Waddell Farmer; brothers and sisters, Blanche, Herb, Maxine, Mark, Ethel and Buddy.
Jack is survived by his children, Vicki (Daryl) Jones, Bill (Cathy) Farmer, and Herb Farmer; grandchildren, Mack (Amy) Houck, Brandi Farmer and Josh Farmer; great-grandchildren, Autumn Farmer, Eli Jack Houck, and Aydrian Farmer; two sisters, Ola Henderson and Willa Shakleford; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Haw Orchard Baptist Church, Rugby, Va. Burial will follow in Haw Orchard Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jack’s honor to Gideons International, Grayson County Camp, P.O.
