James "Jimmy" Allen

December 16, 1949 — March 1, 2022

MARION, Va.

James "Jimmy / Trasher" Allen, age 72, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Jimmy was one of a kind and for that, we should all be thankful. He loved life, kids, toys, entertaining and hanging out talking to people. He loved his country and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Jimmy was a proud member of the VFW and the American Legion. He could sell ice to an Eskimo, and probably did - but Jimmy had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back - or a fidget spinner. Jimmy loved transporting his hiker friends and making their Marion stop easier. His craziness and love of life will be missed by all who knew and loved that crazy thing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Allen and mother, Julia Daniels.

Jimmy is survived by his aunt, Joyce Marie White and husband, Charles of Hagerstown, Md.; 1st cousin, Helen Daniels Holman; 2nd cousin, Anna Holman; and many friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage officiating, and Military Rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Guard and Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. Burial will be private in Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mt. Home, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Center of Abingdon, c/o Ballad Health Foundation, 1019 West Oakland Avenue, Suite 2, Johnson City, TN 37604 or online at www.balladhealth.org.
