MARION, Va.
James Curtis Brickey, Jr. “Brickey”, age 54 passed away Monday, February 1, 2021.
Brickey was a loyal dad, son, and friend. His word was as straight as his shot. Brickey loved being outdoors hunting – he hunted some of the country’s prettiest places. He loved his guns as much as the hunt. He was a proud graduate of ETSU and a successful surveyor and engineer with V-DOT for many years as the Bristol District Location & Design Survey Manager; as well as owning his own business, Brickey Surveying. Brickey was a good guy and a straight shooter – those are hard to come by these days. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Curtis Brickey, Sr.; and best friend, Jiles Collins.
Brickey is survived by his daughter, Jessica “Squirt” Brickey of Blacksburg, Va.; mother, Lois Brickey; girlfriend, Lisa Richardson, both of Marion, Va.; best four legged friend, Honey; and friends who were like brothers, and they know who they are.
