JAMES BERLEY PRICE, age 84, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Mr. Price was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific with the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at Bata Shoe Company for 32 years, retiring to Chilhowie, Virginia in 1992. He will be deeply missed by his wife and children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Rosetta Walls Price; six brothers, Leamon, Lawrence, Howard, Ted, Harry and Victor, Jr. and a beloved granddaughter, Charity.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Florence Walker Price of Marion, Virginia; four children, Herman and Kathy Price of Benton, Louisiana, Shirley Semones of Marion, Virginia, Erma Sue and Ronald Starling of Hope Mills, North Carolina and James Franklin and Kathy Price of Jarrettsville, Maryland; brother, Delmer Price of Port Deposit, Maryland; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Darrell Lambert and Reverend Kenny Price officiating. Burial will follow in Grosses Creek Cemetery, Chilhowie, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
