James L. “Rainbow” Raney, III, age 65, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at his home in Marion.
Rainbow never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family, friends, and especially his cats. James loved to fish, rabbit hunt, go camping, and hang out with friends. His gentle and easy way will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Raney, Jr.
Rainbow is survived by his mother, Margaret E. Cox of Washington, Penn.; sister, Karen Anderson of Marion, Va.; brothers, Kevin Raney and wife, Vicki, Henry Jackson, all of Washington, Penn., and Mike Miller and wife, Dixie of Marion, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kenny Edwards and Carl Hibbard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 12 noon at Antioch Greater Love Ministries with Bishop Nolan Wolfe officiating and Military Rites conducted by the Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Antioch Greater Love Ministries.
