Jamie "JJ" Suzanne Beamer

In Loving Memory, Jamie “JJ” Suzanne Beamer age 69, passed away in her home Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Marion, Va.

Jamie was born in Canada and raised in Marion, where she graduated from Marion Senior High School before attending Wytheville Community College. In her early years, she worked at Smyth County Community Hospital and Francis Marion Manor. She had a deep love for animals, especially her late dog, “Shug”, and cat, “Mocat”. Jamie found joy in cooking and crafting, whether making T-shirt Quilts, or sewing. She had a kind and generous spirit, always bringing warmth to those around her. Her happiest moments were spent by the ocean, and she treasured the time she spent living in Florida and Pawleys Island, South Carolina. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Deane Beamer. 

Jamie is survived by her loving mother, Elizabeth “Libby” Beamer; daughter, Leigh Morrell and husband, Kevin Morrell; four grandchildren, Jordan Morrell, Hunter Phillips, Hannah Phillips, and Tanner Phillips; two sisters, Laurie Beamer, Betsy Bailey and husband, Bruce Bailey; one nephew Tyler Bailey; two nieces, Rachel Bailey, Beth Ann Bailey Moran and husband, Wesley Moran; one great-nephew, Hutch Moran; two great-nieces, Birdie Moran and Eloise Moran; and her best friend and nephew, Tyler Bailey. 

The family will be having a private celebration of life in South Carolina to honor Jamie’s Memory. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jamie’s name to your local animal shelter, reflecting her lifelong love and care for animals.
