MARION VIRGINIA: JANICE DROKE BLANTON, age 71, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at her home in Marion, Virginia. She was the widow of
Hubert F. Blanton.
Janice was a devoted friend to many, including her family. Her special gift
of listening was extended to everyone and given with loving care. She was
a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Scott Blanton, an infant daughter, Margaret, two grandsons, Tony and Tommy Mitchum and
sister, Jean Clemmer.
She is survived by four daughters, Patricia B. DeBusk and husband, John of Saltville, Virginia; Martha B. Schultz of Surprise, Arizona; Shirley B. Mitchum of Arlington, Texas and Barbara B. Richards of Moundville, Missouri; six grandchildren and several great-granchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo and Rev. Dale Strange officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until time of the service.
