Janice Everhart Whisman

Janice Everhart Whisman, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 05, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va. 

Janice was a loving wife, mom, mamaw, and friend. Her last several years were filled with sickness, but before she was an active mom, boy scout leader, started the Hoops Club at Marion Senior High School, concessions worker, baseball mom and when she wasn't taking care of family, she enjoyed fishing. Janice was a special lady who worked to make life better for her family and county. She will be missed. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Joy Everhart; daughter, Brandy Fisher; and infant brother, Buddy Everhart.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Whisman of Marion, Va.; daughter, Chrissy Martin and husband, Josh of Marion, Va.; sons, Charles (Rance) Harlow of Bedford, Va., Tim Whisman and wife, Kristen of Marion, Va.; brother, Randy Everhart and wife, Connie of Friendship, Va.; grandchildren, Tara Saunders and husband, Michael, Heather Harlow, Parker Whisman, Elijah Martin, Alyssa Krutz, Alex Fisher; great grandchildren, Theodore Saunders, Stella Saunders; niece, Ashton Everhart; and her special friend, Diane Branson of Saltville, Va. 

The family will receive friends Monday, July 11, 2022 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Burial will be private.
