MARION, VIRGINIA: JANIE C. CLINE, age 67, died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia.
Janie was a mother to two boys; however she had many kids. Her passion in life was to be a caregiver. She loved her church; in fact, one of her proudest achievements was becoming Parish Nurse for Marion Baptist Church. Janie was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. Even after retirement she volunteered and continued her passion. She loved much and was loved by many. Janie's presence will be missed, but her spirit will live on. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Buchanan and Nellie Frye; her sister, Elizabeth Testerman; her brother, Bill Buchanan; her beloved cat of 19 years, Rosie.
Janie is survived by two sons, John A. Allison and Matthew Bales and wife, Jennifer, all of Marion, Virginia; brother, James Buchanan and wife, Joan of Baltimore, Maryland; several nieces and nephews including special niece, Dawn Davidson Pickle and husband, Ricky of Marion, Virginia and a special great-niece, April Beth Davidson Hooker of Bristol, Tennessee.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Stephanie Porter-Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service.
