Jean Richardson Wolfe age 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday , March 11, 2025 at Valley Nursing Home in Chilhowie, VA.

Jean was affectionately known as "The Eagle". She lived in multiple places as a United States Air Force wife. She loved the travel and moving to different places that military life provided. Although she would not fly. If it could not be reached by car, train or boat she would not go. She made multiple military friends that she kept in contact with over the years. She always wanted to move just one more time. Jean loved her family and multiple pets including cats, dogs and birds. She cared for her animals like they were her children. As her dementia worsened, she could still tell you the names of all her previous pets. She loved rock and roll music. No country music was allowed. She had a large collection of vinyl records and CD's. Her hobby was collecting stamps. She was a collector of many souvenirs her husband, Floyd sent to her from his many travels as Chief Master Sargent in the USAF. She was a generous person who supported several charities.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Floyd Wolfe; parents, Claude Blaine Richardson and Maude Tipton Richardson; sister and brother in law, Eula and James Moore; and nephew, Jimmy Moore.

Jean is survived by one son, Gary Wolfe and wife, Carol of Marion, VA; one granddaughter, Amy Wolfe and spouse Devin Atha of Knoxville, TN; one grandson Aaron Wolfe and wife Kimberly of Roanoke, VA; one great granddaughter, Georgia Wolfe of Roanoke, VA; several nieces, nephews and their families.

In keeping with Jean's wishes, services will be private with burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery, 4410 Lee Highway, Marion, VA.
