ROXBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: JESSE CLAYTON LANE, age 82, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Durham Regional Hospital, Durham, North Carolina.
Mr. Lane was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army and also the U. S. Air Force. He served as assistant principal at Dan Rivers High School in Danville, Virginia. He retired from Kroger after twenty-two years of service.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Mary Eller Lane of Roxboro, North Carolina; one daughter, Rebecca Lane Baggett of Durham, North Carolina; three sons, Arthur Keith Lane of Timberlake, North Carolina, Jesse Calvin Lane and Stephen Eller Lane and wife, Terry all of Durham, North Carolina; one sister, Lucy Lane Walls of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one brother, Clifton Lane of St. Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, David, Daniel, Jordan, Jeremy, and Mary Elizabeth Lane, and Andrew and Jenna Baggett; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside Service will be held Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia with Rev. Kenny Price officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
