Jimmy Ellison Steele age 86, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at NHC Bristol, Bristol, Va.

Jimmy was a loving dad and grandad to the ones who called him Papaw Steele. He loved his family and they made him smile. Jimmy was known all around the area as the best alignment man – he worked for Collins Tire for many years. When he wasn’t with family or working, he enjoyed old cars, and his motorcycles. Jimmy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Boyd and Geneva Gentry Steele; sister, June Carol Walton; brothers, Bobby and Larry Steele.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Deborah Evans and husband, Roy of Marion, Va.; granddaughters, Morghan Hamm and Mayce Lee; great-grandchildren, Weston, Emmah, and Maebry; sisters, Janet McGrail of Ark., and Joyce Freyman of Fla.

There will be a receiving of friends Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will be private at Laurel Springs Cemetery, Marion, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
