JoAnn Adkins

JoAnn Adkins age 79, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Wythe County Community Hospital, Wytheville, Va.   

JoAnn was loved by her family and friends. The light in her eye was definitely those who called her GiGi and Grams. JoAnn was the most loving, kind person, however, she was totally Italian with her strong will and attitude. She was carefree and content ­­­­­knitting and crocheting. JoAnn made many friends during her career with the banks, locally Highlands Union. She is in no pain today and that’s a blessing to her family who miss her so much already.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gehring; son, Edward Gehring; parents, Jospeh Ciotti and Helen Presley; and sister, Nancy Sears.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Jill Gehring of Saltville, Va.; two grandchildren, Ashley Gehring-McCullough and Geoffrey Quintero both of Saltville, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Ryker, Sayler, Maverick and Lillian; special friend, Phyllis Anderson of Marion, Va.

All services will be private with burial in family cemetery.
