John R. Testerman age 62, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tenn.
John loved life; he only saw good in people and only saw the positive side in everything. He was employed by Hardees for 19 years and Quadrant in Wytheville for 9 years before retirement. He loved listening to all genres of music especially country music from the 80s and 90s. He loved the 50s-90s sitcoms, present-day crime and drama shows, Madea movies, WWE Wrestling, Mountain Dew, and VT Football, but most of all he loved to decorate and cook for Christmas. He will truly be missed by all who were close to him including his precious “Ging” (Ginger) and “Pep” (Pepper). Also new fur baby, Sugar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Charlotte Testerman; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Peggy Atkins.
John is survived by his wife, Anne Testerman; daughter, Stacie Lester (Lonzo); sons, Brandon Smith (Stephanie) and Jonathon Testerman (Elizabeth Manus-Testerman); sister, Debra Thompson, (Alan); brothers, James “Jimmy” Testerman (Jackie), Gary Testerman (Eddie), Chris Testerman and Kenneth Testerman (Tracy); sister-in-law, Sue Marchant (Mike); seven grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Macklin Smith, Kryssa Shumate, Jacob Smith, Madison Smith, Gabriella Smith, and Dorsey Testerman; several nieces and nephews; three fur babies (dogs) Ginger, Pepper and Sugar.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 12 until 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. with Lonzo Lester officiating. Burial will be private.
