Judith Eller

MARION, VIRGINIA: JUDITH ELIZABETH ELLER "SHOWKER"; age 66, died Monday, September 08, 2014 in Loudon County Hospital, Loudon County, Virginia. Judie was born and raised in Marion, Virginia. She graduated from Marion Senior High in 1966 and attended Emory and Henry College and graduated in 1970, she then began her teaching career at Atkins Elementary in Atkins, Virginia. Mrs. Showker, as she will be remembered by her students moved to Staunton, Virginia and continued her teaching with the children at Craigsville Elementary School in Craigsville, Virginia. Children were a major part of Judie's life. While married to Skip, the joy of their lives was raising Kristen and Aaron. Judie was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton where she directed the children's choir and faithfully attended her Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Thelma Wygal Eller. She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Eid and husband, Mohammed of Newport Coast, California; son, Aaron Showker and wife, Amy of Centreville, Virginia; granddaughter, Alia Emory Showker; brother, Joseph Burton Eller, Jr and wife, Laurie of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia. Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, Staunton, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday, evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
