Judith "Judy" Ann Samuels Coulthard

Judith “Judy” Samuels Coulthard, age 81, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. 

Judith was a loving wife to Jim for 61 years, nurturing mom, nana, and friend to everybody. She was a graduate of Big Creek High School where she played trombone with the band and graduated from Little French Beauty Academy. For 45 years she was a beautician and when she wasn’t working or with family she enjoyed contributing to her community. Judith was a member of the Saltville Volunteer Rescue Squad as well as the District 9 EMS. She was a member of the New Zion United Methodist Church. Judith’s kind, caring way will be missed by all of her family and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ransie and Dolly Samuels and son, James Michael Coulthard. 

Judy is survived by her husband Jim Coulthard; daughters Cheryl Ann Doane and husband, James, Amy Beth Somervell and husband, Jason; three brothers. Larry Samuels and wife, Linda, Tony Samuels and wife, Lili, and Ricky Samuels and Carol Prater; four grandchildren, Ashley Chustz, Eric Somervell, Kortney Clear and Eric Doane; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to our Blessings from Heaven, Reanea Carter and Joann Greer. 

The family will receive friends to share memories of and celebrate Judy’s life Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Ridgedale United Methodist Church, 1112 Ridgedale Road, Saltville, VA 24370. 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations go to New Zion United Methodist Church c/o Building Fund, 908 Sunset River Road, Ceres, Virginia 24318.
