MARION, VIRGINIA: JUNE B. GROSECLOSE, age 86, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Widowed at a young age, June's family and friends were the center of her life and she cherished every moment she spent with them. A devoted mother and grandmother, June was also an animal and music lover and an avid bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Groseclose and son, Robert David Groseclose.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Gwyn Groseclose of Marion, Virginia; three grandchildren, Brooke Groseclose Kidd and husband, Teddy of Durham, North Carolina, Reid Groseclose of Nashville, Tennessee, and Chase Groseclose of Washington D.C.; three nieces and one nephew, Linda Turley of Yorktown, Virginia, Peggy Groseclose and Patty Pendleton both of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Larry Groseclose of Temple, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 26, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. Private burial will take place in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church after the service.
