Karen Summerfield Anderson

Karen Summerfield Anderson, age 59, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va. 

Karen was a caring, giving and loving mom, sister, aunt and friend who loved to joke and have a good time. Everybody loved her cooking as much as getting her advice in any situation. Karen would lovingly help, but never bit her tongue. She was a friend all the time, but always a mom first. Her sisters and baby brothers were known as the A-Team when they needed to be. Karen was all about her people, and she will be missed but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pauline Sherisa Anderson; mother, Pauline Sheffey Anderson.

Karen is survived by her son, Travis Anderson (Jama) of South Carolina; nephew she loved like a son, Tevin Anderson of South Carolina; fiancé, Larry Dean Crouse of Marion, Va.; sisters, Donna Anderson of Marion, Va., Deborah Calloway (William) of Roanoke, Va. and Regina Roberts (Terry Whitten) of Marion, Va.; brother, Todd Anderson of Marion, Va.; special niece, Shanelle Noel, and her children and grandchildren; special friends, Sharon Bryant, Olivia Sawyers, Deanna Du-Brul, Patty Dillman and Camilla Mott McGill; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins who were all very special and loved; numerous other wonderful lifetime friends.

There will be no public services.
