Kate L Overbay

ATKINS, VA: KATE L. OVERBAY, age 90, died October 15, 2016 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va. She was born December 6, 1925 in Smyth County to the late Albert and Blanch Geraldine Foster Leonard. Kate was a long time member of the Atkins First Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Overbay; daughter-in-law, Sherry Stapleton Overbay; brother, AG Leonard and sister, Peggy Leonard Delp. Kate is survived by her son Gary Overbay and wife, Lois; daughter Karen Blevins and husband, Leonard; sister, Hazel Henderlite, all of Atkins, Va.; brother, Ronald Leonard and wife, Dillie of Meridian, Miss.; one granddaughter, Camille Channell and husband, Joe; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Haley and Kendall Channell. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Charlie Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat, Va. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
