Kenneth Wayne Burkett

MARION, Va.

Kenneth Wayne Burkett, age 80, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his home.

Wayne was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his friends and family; especially his grandson, Cody. He loved watching the races and football. Wayne will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Burkett; parents, Charlie and Blanche Burkett; and brother, Charlie Burkett.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susie Burkett of Marion, Va.; daughter, Wendy Peters of Elizabethton, Tenn.; son, Michael Burkett of Marion, Va.; sister, Shirley Clark and husband, Roger of Bristol, Tenn.; brothers,  Lee Burkett and wife, Marie of Fla.; grandson, Cody Burkett of Marion, Va.; several nieces and nephews. 

 The family will celebrate Wayne’s life privately at Hungry Mother State Park.
