MADISON, ALABAMA: LARRY ELMER FRAZIER, age 74, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at his home in Madison, Alabama. He was born in Marion, Virginia, October 2, 1933, to Roy W. and Mary Wymer Frazier. Larry attended local schools and graduated from Marion High School in 1951. A graduate of Montevallo University, Mr. Frazier was a retired General Manager of Eastern Test Operations for Wyle Laboratories in Huntsville, Alabama. Throughout his life he was active in many youth-oriented civic organizations and received the Man of the Year award from the Wayne County Boys' Club in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in 1966. He was Charter President of the Optimist Club of Madison and served in several capacities in the Alabama-Mississippi Optimist District at the District level. He also served on the Board of Directors of the AARP Chapter #5083 in Madison and was a Mason belonging to Lunar Lodge #918. In 2002, Larry was inducted into the Alabama Senior Citizens' Hall of Fame. He loved his family and adored his grand children. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Wilma Frazier; two sons, Larry Elmer Frazier, Jr. of Vale, Oregon, and Randall Frazier of Redlands, California; one daughter, Pamela Roberts of Madison, Alabama; and seven wonderful grandchildren; one sister, Joyce "Jo" Keyes of Marion, Virginia; two half-sisters, Janet Dianne Bower of Vinton, Virginia and Rita Hall of Bedford, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service will be held at Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. Mark Ross officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 am, Thursday, December 27, 2007. Masonic graveside services will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058 and/or Madison Optimist Club, PO Box 150, Madison, Al 35758. All are welcomed to join the Frazier family for a celebration of Larry's life on Saturday, December 29, 2:00 p.m. at Asbury Methodist Church, Madison, AL. He was an excellent role model and mentor to his children and grand children. He was a wonderful man with a loving heart, demonstrated by his service and kindness to others.
