MARION, VIRGINIA: LARRY SHELTON WHITE, age 77, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at his home in Marion.
Larry White had a knack for making folks smile. As a matter of fact he made his living at it. Larry was the photographer for Greer Studios in Marion for over 20 years. After retiring, he began his own business, White's Photography. Larry and his wife Lynn were very active with the Future Business Leaders of America club at Marion Senior High, where Lynn teaches. If there was an FBLA event, Larry was there. He was fondly referred to as "Papaw" or "Mr. FBLA" by many of her students.
Mr. White was a proud member of the Marion VFW Post 4667 and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a longstanding member of Royal Oak Presbyterian Church. Larry's service, his gentle way and most importantly his smile, will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry T. and Edythe Brown White.
Larry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynn M. White of Marion, Virginia; one daughter, Linda White Burchett and husband, Steve of Marion, Virginia; two sons, Michael A. White of Abingdon, Virginia and Gregory S. White and wife, Stephanie of Floyd, Virginia; three grandchildren; and his best friend and faithful companion, his Maltese, Molly Grace.
