Linda Kay Danner age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 20, 1947 in Smyth County, Va. to the late Juanita Dye Doss and Homer Parsons. She was the granddaughter of the late Rev. L.H. and Virginia Dye and Carl A. and Belvia Parsons, Sr. She was preceded in death by her son's father, James S. "Buddy" Wade; her brother, Rev. H. Wayne Parsons; and two nephews, Kevin Wayne Parsons and Phillip Lee Shuler. Linda was a member of Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church, and was employed with Slemp Brant Saunders & Associates for 35 years.
She is survived by her son, Patrick McKay Wade and friend Melanie Ratliff of Austinville; two grandchildren, Tyler Blake Rosenbaum and friend, Kaylee Buchanan of Bristol, and Jordan Cheyanne Wade and friend, Josh Vaughn of Rural Retreat; two sisters, Mary Lee Shuler and husband, D.C. of Sugar Grove, Millie Parsons Burke and friend, Jimmy Sturgill of Seven Mile Ford; half-sister and brother Gail Parsons Collins and Gary Parsons; special sisters-in-law, Bertha Humphreys Parsons of Abingdon and Pat Wade Cook of Woodstock, Ga.; special brother-in-law, Dennis K. French of Chilhowie; special niece, Tara French Pruitt and friend, Chris Poe of Chilhowie; very special friend Bud Robinson and family of Marion; special friends, Dr. Samuel Vernon and wife, Gail of Marion, Ken Hall and wife, Betsy, Gladys Smith and Della Duncan all of Seven Mile Ford; her Slemp Brant Saunders family; and several nieces, nephews, and other friends.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 12 noon at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Tom Sullivan, Pastor Jim Walker and Pastor Todd Porter officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A private interment will take place at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff B.C. "Chip" Shuler, Timothy H. Shuler, D.C. Shuler, Steven C. Parsons, Dr. Samuel Vernon, Christopher L. Poe, Jimmy D. Sturgill, Dennis K. French, Michael E. Pruitt, and Wayne Kirby.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia and Dr. Emily Bralley for their compassion and outstanding care during Linda's illness.
