Linda Joyce Stamper Mros

Marion, Va. / Aragon, Ga.

 Linda Joyce Stamper Mros, age 70 of Aragon, Georgia passed into eternal rest Monday, February 21, 2022.

 Linda attended Riverside Elementary School and graduated from Chilhowie High School in 1969 where she received the Betty Crocker award for culinary arts. She graduated from Berry College in Rome, Georgia in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. There she met and married her college sweetheart, Jim Mros in 1972. Linda earned a Masters of Library Science from West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia in 1991 and earned her National Teacher’s Certification in 2006. In 1973, Linda began her career as a volunteer at Sarah Hightower Regional Library in Rome, Georgia and later served as the head of the children’s department. She continued her career as head librarian at Purk’s Middle School and head librarian and media coordinator at Cedartown High School, both located in Cedartown, Georgia. She retired after 30 years. Linda enjoyed sharing her love of reading with children and everyone she met. Her other joys included her family, genealogy, Virginia, Ireland’s history and songs, cross stitching, and visiting historical sites. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.  

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Luther and Lydia Parsons Stamper; siblings Robert “Bob” W. Stamper, Jerry Stamper, Billy Stamper, Steve Stamper, Carl “Jeff” Stamper, and Ray Stamper.

 Linda is survived by her husband James “Jim” Michael Mros; children Amanda Leigh Mros and Patrick James Mros; siblings: John Stamper (Connie), Jack Stamper (Mary Ann), Brenda Hayden, Charles “Buster” Stamper, Judy Brisson (Richard), Jimmy Stamper (Mary), and Tim Stamper (Lora); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Stamper, Rhonda Stamper, Cassie Stamper, Marilyn Mros Belotti; brother-in-law, Stanley Mros (Lillian); one aunt, Irene Stamper; numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

 The family will receive friends Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral Mass will begin at 7 p.m. with Father Frances Musolooza officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at McClure Cemetery, St. Clairs Creek Road, Chilhowie, Va. 24319.
