Lonnie James Phillips

Lonnie James Phillips age 53, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, Va.

Lonnie was a loving father and better yet a grandpa to his beautiful grandbaby. Until recent years, he worked as a laborer at Universal Fibers in Bristol, Va. His love for animals was unmatched no matter what type it was he had a soft spot for them. He met the love of his life, Dena on an AC/DC website which happens to be his favorite band and they have been inseparable ever since.  When he wasn’t spending time with family and friends, you could find him outdoors fishing, hunting, tinkering, riding the motorcycle or working the farm. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Chelsea Autumn Phillips and mother, Twila Faye Phillips.

Lonnie is survived by his fiancé, Dena Frere; daughter, Liberty Phillips; son, Tanner Phillips and wife, Miranda; father, James Phillips; sister, Connie Bennett; granddaughter, Saylor Phillips; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Melissa Haward.
